Resumo

O envelhecimento associa-se a declínio multissistémico e aumento do risco e número de quedas. A evidência mostra que intervenções multifatoriais envolvendo exercício e educação apresentam efeito positivo na prevenção de quedas. Contudo, o exercício é muitas vezes percebido como monótono, repetitivo, não atrativo ou pouco gratificante e o jogo e estratégias de jogo, surgem como uma forma prazerosa e atrativa. O principal objetivo deste estudo é implementar e avaliar a efetividade de um programa de intervenção, utilizando o jogo analógico, no equilíbrio e risco de queda do idoso da comunidade, em comparação com a terapia baseada no exercício e com estratégias educacionais. Estudo randomizado controlado com 138 participantes com 65 ou mais anos de idade, da comunidade. Incluirá dois grupos de controlo (programa de exercício convencional e sessões educativas) e um grupo de intervenção (treino com o jogo analógico - “O jogo da árvore”), com 49 indivíduos cada, durante 12 semanas. Todos os indivíduos serão avaliados antes do início do programa, no final e após 6 meses utilizando instrumentos específicos, de onde se destaca o 5 Times-Sit-to-Stand, Escala de Equilíbrio de Berg, Short Falls Efficacy Scale– International e Timed-Up-and-Go. Esta metodologia de estudo permitirá analisar o impacto do uso do jogo analógico na prevenção de quedas nos idosos na comunidade. Um resultado positivo ajudará a criar e integrar novas oportunidades e estratégias de intervenção na pessoa idosa na comunidade, que poderão contribuir para a prevenção de perda funcional ao longo da vida.
