Resumo
Este estudo analisou os efeitos de um programa de exercício físico multicomponente na capacidade física, mobilidade funcional e resiliência de beneficiários de serviços de apoio domiciliário. O estudo longitudinal, de 12 semanas, envolveu uma amostra de adultos com idade igual ou superior a 65 anos. Os dados foram recolhidos através de um questionário sociodemográfico e foi aplicada a versão portuguesa da Escala de Resiliência. A capacidade física foi avaliada através da força de preensão manual e a mobilidade funcional através do teste Timed Up and Go. Para verificar a normalidade da distribuição utilizou-se o teste de Kolmogorov-Smirnov e o teste t pareado, adotando-se um nível de significância de p<0,05 (software SPSS®). A amostra foi composta por 11 participantes (81.8 ± 4.89 anos; 63.6% mulheres), do Baixo Alentejo e entre eles, 45.5% apresentavam sobrepeso e/ou obesidade, 36.4% relataram quedas nos últimos 12 meses e 81.8% evidenciavam baixa capacidade física. Após a intervenção, observaram-se melhorias significativas na capacidade física (pré: 16.6±7.6 kgf; pós 18.3±5.2 kgf, p=0.002) e na mobilidade funcional (pré: 28.5±10.1 m/s; pós 21.2±14.7 m/s, p=0.017). Verificaram-se também aumentos significativos em fatores específicos da resiliência, nomeadamente perseverança (pré: 4.7±1.7; pós: 5.5±1.9, p<0.001), sentido de vida (pré: 5.2±0.9; pós: 5.3±1.1, p=0.005) e autossuficiência e autoconfiança (pré: 4.4±1.3; pós: 4.5±1.3, p=0.016). Em síntese, o programa de exercício multicomponente promoveu melhorias significativas na capacidade física, na mobilidade funcional e em dimensões específicas da resiliência. Estes resultados reforçam a relevância dos programas de exercício físico na promoção da saúde e do bem-estar dos idosos.Referências
