Resumo

Este artigo apresenta uma revisão sistemática da literatura sobre a preparação para o envelhecimento. A pesquisa foi realizada nas bases de dados Scopus e Web of Science (WOS) em Março de 2025, utilizando critérios de inclusão e exclusão específicos para garantir a relevância dos estudos analisados. A análise bibliométrica revelou estudos com espaço temporal que varia entre 1997 e 2024, correspondendo a um trabalho de 46 autores. Os resultados destacam a importância de uma abordagem multidimensional na preparação para o envelhecimento, incluindo saúde física e mental, segurança financeira, aceitação do envelhecimento e planeamento de atividades produtivas. A revisão também enfatiza a necessidade de políticas públicas informadas, inclusivas e eficazes, adequadas às especificidades e necessidades locais e que envolvam a colaboração entre pesquisadores, formuladores de políticas e comunidades para melhorar a qualidade de vida das populações mais velhas, assim como a necessidade de inclusão das pessoas mais velhas nos processos de decisão que afetam as suas vidas. A preparação para o envelhecimento é influenciada por fatores culturais, sociais e económicos e requer uma abordagem coletiva que mobilize recursos sociais e promova o bem-estar público. O artigo conclui que a preparação para o envelhecimento implica planeamento e ações efetivas, deve começar na meia-idade e envolver múltiplas dimensões, sendo essencial para a criação de ambientes favoráveis e para a promoção de um envelhecimento ativo, digno e saudável.
