Resumo
Este estudo quantitativo analisou o impacto do voluntariado sénior na área da saúde, explorando a sua relação com a Satisfação com a Vida, Bem-Estar Psicológico e Qualidade de Vida, bem como com o envelhecimento ativo e saudável. Participaram 30 voluntários seniores e 30 não voluntários, comparando-se os seus perfis sociodemográficos e perceções. Os voluntários, maioritariamente mulheres com menos de 75 anos e maior nível socioeconómico e educacional, dedicam mais de quatro horas semanais a atividades de suporte emocional, social e prático. Apresentam maiores níveis de Qualidade de Vida, exceto no domínio físico. Os resultados indicam que indivíduos com um perfil de envelhecimento ativo são mais propensos ao voluntariado, possuem um nível socioeconómico mais elevado e relatam melhor saúde percebida. Além disso, voluntários que percecionam a sua atividade como menos exigente tendem a reportar melhor Qualidade de Vida Física. Conclui-se que o voluntariado sénior tem um impacto positivo na Qualidade de Vida e no Bem-Estar, destacando-se como uma estratégia relevante para promover o Envelhecimento Ativo em Portugal.
